About Borkumriff II
Borkumriff II is a 31-metre (101’8″) classic two-masted schooner built in 1982 by the German yard Lubbe-Voss, her lines originally drawn by H. Lünstroo. A comprehensive rebuild in 2008-2009 took her down to the hull, and a further interior refit followed in 2019-2020, leaving a traditional profile with contemporary systems and finishes below decks. Steel hull, teak superstructure and decking, a raked schooner bow and a long keel give her the heavy-displacement look of a genuine classic sailing yacht rather than a modern reproduction. Charter listings record a run of earlier names before she became Borkumriff II, a detail that occasionally surfaces in her history but has no bearing on the yacht herself.
Guest Accommodation
Borkumriff II accommodates up to 8 guests across 4 cabins: a master suite, one double cabin and two twin cabins, for 6 berths in total (1 queen, 1 double and 4 singles). The master suite has its own marble en-suite bathroom. A crew of 4 to 5 runs the yacht, a sensible ratio for a charter group of this size aboard a classic schooner.
Onboard Amenities
Communications are a genuine strength for a yacht of her era: twin VHF Sailor DSC sets, an Icom VHF and an Iridium satellite phone, all upgraded in 2019, sit alongside Wi-Fi throughout. Air conditioning and heating run to every cabin, and a video-on-demand system is available on request. The salon and master cabin each have a TV, with three further Philips sets fitted in the remaining cabins. On deck, a cockpit alfresco dining area shaded by a large awning extends the living space outdoors, finished in a mix of teak, white leather and stainless steel that suits her classic styling without feeling dated.

Cruising Performance
A single John Deere diesel gives Borkumriff II a cruising speed of 8 knots and a top speed of 10 knots, with a range of around 1,497 nautical miles from her 5,000-litre fuel tanks at cruising speed.
She splits her charter calendar between the East and West Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Recent guests have cruised her through Split, Dubrovnik and Kotor, a route that suits a Croatia yacht charter well and plays to a classic schooner’s unhurried pace.
Toys & Water Equipment
Water toys aboard include a 6.4-metre/21-foot tender, a waterslide, towable rides including a donut, waterskis, scuba diving equipment, wakeboards, beach games, inflatable water toys and a full set of snorkelling gear. Guests wanting to add a day of game fishing can also charter an independent sport-fishing boat alongside Borkumriff II, a distinctive extra not every classic schooner charter offers.
