About Akar XIII

The 34.1-meter (112-foot) Sanlorenzo SD112 motor yacht Akar XIII was delivered in 2018 from the Italian builder’s Viareggio yard. Francesco Paszkowski drew her exterior, and the interior work was handled by Citterio Viel. Akar XIII is the fourteenth hull in Sanlorenzo’s SD112 series, first launched under the name Kia Ora and later renamed Tolemai before taking her current name.

At 266 gross tons, Akar XIII carries notably more interior volume than many motor yachts of similar length, and her semi-displacement hull is built for comfortable Mediterranean cruising rather than outright speed. The master suite sits forward on the main deck, a layout more typical of larger yachts, which gives the owner’s party added privacy and natural light.

Her five-cabin configuration for up to 10-11 guests makes Akar XIII a practical option for multi-generational families or several couples chartering together, and her crew of six is enough to run a 34-meter yacht without feeling thin on the ground. Powered by twin MTU 12V2000 M72 diesels rated at 1,224hp apiece, Akar XIII makes 11 knots at a comfortable cruise and can push to roughly 15 knots flat out, though published top-speed figures vary slightly by source up to 16 knots. Fuel tankage of 25,000 liters gives her an operating range near 2,600 nautical miles.

That range and her semi-displacement hull suit island-hopping itineraries around her home cruising ground better than long ocean passages. She is based out of La Spezia and currently charters across the western Mediterranean, taking in the French Riviera, Corsica, Sardinia and the Tuscan archipelago, with brokers citing further availability along the Italian and eastern Mediterranean coast depending on season.
