About Cabernet

The 44.81m/147′ motor yacht Cabernet was built in 2006 by New Zealand shipyard Sensation Yachts and refitted in 2018, with interior and exterior styling by British designer Evan K Marshall and naval architecture by Phil Curran Design. She is a motor yacht with accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 cabins, cared for by a crew of 8.

Cabernet is easy to recognize at anchor thanks to her striking burgundy red hull and teak decks, and her semi-displacement hull balances speed with comfortable cruising manners. She charters year-round in the Caribbean, with a shallow 2m/6’7″ draft that lets her anchor closer to shorelines and shallow bays than many yachts her size.

Her itinerary also extends to the Bahamas, where the same shallow draft is equally useful for reaching skinny-water anchorages around the Exuma Cays and the Abacos.

Guest Accommodation

Cabernet sleeps up to 12 guests across 6 suites: a master suite, one VIP cabin, two double cabins and two twin cabins, for 8 beds in total comprising 2 king, 2 double and 4 single berths. The master suite spans the full beam of its deck and includes a dressing room and a his-and-her en suite bathroom. A crew of 8 is on hand throughout the charter.

Onboard Amenities

Practical features onboard include a glass-walled elevator connecting her decks, a sundeck Jacuzzi, Wi-Fi throughout and air conditioning for year-round comfort. At-anchor stabilizers keep the yacht steady overnight, a genuine benefit on multi-day Caribbean itineraries with several nights spent at anchor.

Power comes from twin Caterpillar diesel engines producing a combined 6,000hp, giving Cabernet a cruising speed of 17 knots, a top speed of 23 knots, and a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots from her 52,996-litre fuel tanks.

Toys & Water Equipment

Cabernet carries a genuinely useful spread of water toys for a charter yacht of her size. Two Jet Skis are stationed at the bow on their own launching davits, and two SEABOBs let guests skim the surface or explore quietly underwater. Divers are well catered for with an onboard dive compressor and diving equipment, and a 10.67m/35′ EVERGLADES tender handles transfers to shore.
