About Cuan Law
Cuan Law is a 32.6m/106’11” sailing trimaran built in 1988 by Duncan Muirhead. At roughly 13.4m across the beam, she is one of the largest multihulls regularly chartering in the region. She sleeps up to 20 guests in 10 staterooms, with 7 crew aboard to run the boat and lead her diving program.
She was purpose-built for a diving-led sailing charter in the Caribbean, where she is based year-round in the British Virgin Islands. Her charter rate is typically quoted all-inclusive, covering fuel, food, and drinks as part of the weekly price rather than through a separate APA, which is unusual for a yacht of her size.
Guest Accommodation
Ten staterooms give Cuan Law a cabin count rarely seen on a charter sailing yacht her size. Guests can request either a queen bed or two twins in any cabin, and each stateroom comes with its own private head and a separate air conditioning control, so the layout flexes easily between a family group and a full-boat charter of unrelated guests.
Crew includes a captain and chef plus two stewards, an engineer, and two specialists who lead guided dives and manage the onboard dive gear throughout the week.
Onboard Amenities
The aft deck and air-conditioned saloon give guests room to spread out, and a top-deck hammock area is a popular spot to watch the islands go by. Air conditioning runs throughout the accommodation.
Cruising Performance
Built with an aluminum hull and superstructure, Cuan Law draws just 1.5m/4’11”, letting her tuck into coves and shallow anchorages that are off-limits to monohulls of similar length. Twin 210hp Caterpillar diesels back up her sailing rig, and she cruises at 10 knots with a top speed of 12 knots.
Toys & Water Equipment
Diving is the headline activity on board, with a full set of scuba gear and two dedicated dive masters to run guided reef and wreck dives around the BVI. Beyond diving, guests have sailing dinghies, waterskis, a wakeboard, kneeboard, towable tube, single and double kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards to work through, plus snorkeling gear and beach games for time ashore. A large dinghy handles ship-to-shore transfers.
