About Emerald Lady
Emerald Lady is a 35 metre (114’10”) motor yacht built in 1983 by Lloyds Ships in Brisbane, with a major refit completed in 2005. She takes up to 8 guests in 4 cabins, cared for by a crew of 5, and charters year-round along Australia’s east coast.
Guest Accommodation
Emerald Lady sleeps 8 guests in a master suite, a VIP cabin, and two twin cabins, for 6 beds in total: 2 kings and 4 singles. Families traveling with children or younger guests will find the twin-cabin layout works well for keeping everyone close but separate.
The master suite spans the full beam of the yacht and includes its own dressing area, giving the primary cabin more storage and privacy than is typical on a yacht this size. The VIP cabin sits on the main deck alongside it, a configuration that keeps both premium cabins away from the engine noise further aft. A crew of 5 stays on hand throughout the charter to manage everything from meal service to reef excursions.
Onboard Amenities
Onboard, Emerald Lady is equipped for active days on the water as much as relaxed evenings at anchor. Guests have access to waterskis, two aqua scooters, a full dive setup with compressor, two kayaks, snorkelling gear, and fishing tackle for those keen to try their luck on the Reef. A 5 metre Gemini rigid inflatable and a 5 metre aluminium fishing boat handle transfers and reef access between them.
Inside, the saloon carries an L-shaped sofa, a single reclining chair, and a dining table that seats 8, along with a wine fridge and entertainment centre for evenings at anchor. Up on the sun deck, a second dining setup accommodates up to 12 guests alongside a stainless steel barbecue, ice maker and bar fridge, making it the yacht’s main gathering point once the sun goes down. A 2004/2005 refit at Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard, later recognised as Australia’s inaugural Refit of the Year, brought new Australian hardwood joinery, re-powering, stabilisers and updated systems throughout.

Helipad
Built for Long-Range Cruising
Few charter yachts of her size carry a helipad, and Emerald Lady is a rare exception in her class. Her aluminium hull and superstructure, combined with twin Cummins N14 diesel engines rated at 480hp each, give her a cruising speed of around 10 to 11 knots and a top speed near 13.8 knots.
Her 28,000 litre fuel capacity lets her cover up to 3,000 nautical miles between refuelling stops, well beyond what most charter yachts her size can manage. That endurance, together with full AMSA survey certification for 45 day guests, supports the kind of extended, self-sufficient itineraries that reach the more remote stretches of Australia’s east coast. A shallow 2.2 metre draft and 6.4 metre beam let her tuck into anchorages that larger expedition yachts have to skip.
