About Fenides
The 41m/134’6″ Fenides is a phinisi-style motor-sailer launched in 2019 by Konjo Boat Builders in Ara, South Sulawesi. Interior and exterior design come from Michael Schnadhorst, and the build uses ironwood and teak in the traditional Sulawesi style, pairing authentic Indonesian craftsmanship with a contemporary, dive-focused layout.
Fenides operates year-round in eastern Indonesia, with itineraries built around Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat, and the more remote reaches of Halmahera and Banda. The yacht suits charter groups who want an active, destination-led trip centred on diving, snorkelling, and exploring islands well off the standard South East Asia charter track.
Guest Accommodation
Fenides accommodates up to 10 guests across 5 en-suite cabins. The layout runs a master suite, two doubles, and a further pair that can be made up as twins when the group needs them. A crew of 11, including a dedicated dive guide and chef, keeps service personal even at full capacity.
The cabin layout is split across the lower and upper decks, with the upper-deck doubles taking in views over the anchorage. Each cabin has air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom, a practical detail for multi-day dive itineraries where guests are in and out of the water through the day.
Onboard Amenities
Onboard, Fenides centres around open-air social spaces rather than a single formal saloon, with alfresco dining, a library corner, and two outdoor bars spread across her decks. A climate-controlled camera room with editing stations is a distinctive feature for a yacht of her size, aimed squarely at guests travelling with serious dive or photography kit.
Wi-Fi connectivity and air conditioning run throughout, and a Bose sound system covers the main lounge areas. Two sun decks give guests separate spaces to relax between dives or shore excursions, which many charter groups find useful when sailing as a mixed-age party.

Cruising Performance
Fenides is a full-displacement sailing yacht with a wood hull and superstructure, giving her the stability at anchor and generous interior volume typical of a traditional phinisi build. A single Yanmar 6HA2M WDT engine takes her to a comfortable 9-knot cruising speed, with a maximum of 10 knots.
With a shallow draft of 2m/6’7″, Fenides reaches anchorages that deeper boats have to skip, a real advantage in the reef-fringed bays of Raja Ampat and Komodo. Her 7.7m beam keeps the hull narrow relative to her length, a proportion shaped more by seakeeping than by maximising interior volume.
Toys & Water Equipment
Fenides carries a full set of dive equipment, including a Bauer compressor and Nitrox system, making her a practical choice for certified divers who want to make the most of a liveaboard-style charter. Four stand-up paddleboards and two sea kayaks cover flatter-water days, alongside wakeboard and fishing equipment for guests who want a change of pace. Guests new to this kind of trip may find it useful to read our charter season guide before settling on dates, since dive visibility and conditions shift noticeably across the year in this part of Indonesia.
Two 40hp tenders handle transfers to shore and diving excursions further from the main anchorage. Combined with her dedicated dive guide, the toy inventory is built around active, exploration-led charters rather than simple beach-day lounging.
