About Kawai
Kawai is a 28.3-meter (92.8-foot) open motor yacht built by Overmarine under its Mangusta 92 line and launched in 2010. She sleeps 7 guests across 3 cabins with a crew of 3.
Speed is her defining character. Brokers consistently market her on performance, and waterjet propulsion, a genuine point of difference from the shaft-driven open yachts common in this size class, backs that positioning up.
She currently cruises the waters around Sardinia, based near Olbia on the island’s northeast coast and within easy reach of the Costa Smeralda’s beaches and anchorages.
Guest Accommodation
The three cabins sleep 7 guests, served by a crew of 3, a lean complement typical of a performance-focused open yacht of this size rather than a vessel built around an extensive service team.
Onboard Amenities
Kawai’s interior is finished to what her brokers describe as an elegant standard. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV cover the baseline comfort specification, and zero-speed stabilizers keep her steady once at anchor as well as underway.

Cruising Performance
Twin MTU diesels producing roughly 2,600hp each drive Kawai through waterjets rather than conventional shafts, giving her a top speed of around 40 knots and a cruising speed near 30 knots. That is fast for a yacht in this size class and lets guests cover more coastline in a day than a standard-displacement motor yacht of similar length typically allows.
The waterjet drive also brings a shallow draft advantage, useful for tucking closer into the smaller bays and coves along the Sardinian and Corsican coastline than a shaft-driven yacht of comparable size could manage.
Toys & Water Equipment
Kawai carries a Williams 395 Sport Jet as her tender, plus a varied water toy inventory that brokers list consistently: waterskis, a wakeboard, an inflatable donut, two to three stand-up paddleboards, snorkeling gear, and a Seabob.
The swim platform includes a freshwater shower, and generous sun pads and an open aft deck give guests plenty of space to set up before or after using the toys.
