About Mizar
Mizar is a 31.67-meter (103’11”) classic motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard Benetti in 1973, with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure finished in the yard’s distinctive canoe-stern profile. She accommodates up to 11 guests across four cabins and carries a crew of six, and remains in active charter service more than five decades after her launch.
Her styling sets her apart from most charter fleets on the market today. Mahogany joinery, brass fittings, and a full-displacement hull speak to an earlier era of yacht design, while onboard systems have been updated over the decades to keep her comfortable for modern charter guests. She typically cruises the Western Mediterranean each season, based around the French Riviera and the wider Italian coast.
Guest Accommodation
Mizar sleeps up to 11 guests in four cabins: a master suite, two double cabins, and one twin cabin, for a total of eight beds (one king, two queen, three singles, and two pullmans). The twin layout makes her a practical choice for families or groups traveling with children. A crew of six looks after guests throughout the charter, with roles typically divided much as outlined in this guide to crew roles.
Onboard Amenities
The yacht has Wi-Fi throughout and air conditioning in all cabins and saloons, useful on a Mediterranean charter where afternoon temperatures can climb in high summer. Original mahogany paneling and brass fittings carry through most interior spaces, giving the yacht a distinctly classic character compared with newer, more minimalist charter tonnage.
Cruising Performance
Twin MTU diesel engines take Mizar to a comfortable 10-knot cruising speed, and her 37,000-liter fuel capacity supports a range of roughly 3,000 nautical miles between refueling stops. Because she was built as a displacement yacht rather than a planing one, her steel-and-aluminium construction trades top-end speed for a quieter, more settled motion underway. Stabilizers keep her steady once she’s anchored for the day.
Toys & Water Equipment
Water toys on board include a jet ski and three canoes, giving guests a mix of fast and leisurely ways to get out on the water. A Novurania tender handles transfers to and from shore. Snorkeling gear is also available for guests who want to explore closer to the yacht.
