About Pacific Eagle
Pacific Eagle is a 31.09m (102ft) sailing ketch built in 1990 by Alloy Yachts of New Zealand, and she remains an active charter sailing yacht accommodating up to 6 guests across 3 cabins. The twin-masted rig and aluminium hull were built for steady, long-range passages rather than outright speed, and her wide deck areas give guests plenty of room to relax outside while underway or at anchor.
She winters in New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds and heads north each year to cruise the South Pacific, taking in Fiji, Tonga, the Cook Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia over the summer charter season.
Guest Accommodation
Guests are accommodated across 3 cabins: two doubles and one twin, sleeping up to 6 in total across 1 king, 1 double and 2 single berths. A crew of 3 handles day-to-day running of the yacht and looks after guests throughout the charter.
Onboard Amenities
Air conditioning runs throughout the accommodation, a welcome feature for guests chartering through the warmer South Pacific months as much as for New Zealand’s winter cruising.
Cruising Performance
Hull and superstructure are both aluminium, set beneath a teak deck. A pair of Gardner 6LY diesels (245hp/183kW apiece, 366kW combined) drive her at a cruising speed of 10 knots and up to 12 knots flat out. Fuel capacity of 12,000 litres gives roughly 2,500 nautical miles of range at cruising speed; she draws 2.59m and has a 7.6m beam.
