About Pacific Yellowfin
Built in 1943 at the Billings Shipyard in Maine, Pacific Yellowfin is a classic motor yacht that began life as a vessel of her WWII-era generation before a 2003 refit converted her into a charter yacht. She now operates exclusively in British Columbia’s coastal wilderness, a genuinely different profile from the Mediterranean and Caribbean motor yachts that dominate most charter fleets. Her all-inclusive weekly rate, covering crew, fuel, meals and water toys, is also a different structure from the charter-fee-plus-APA model used on most larger charter yachts.
Guest Accommodation
Pacific Yellowfin sleeps guests across four cabins, finished in varnished wood panelling that reflects her 1940s heritage. Family-friendly cabins sit on the lower deck, while the staterooms on the middle and upper decks suit couples seeking more privacy. Her guest capacity runs on two linked configurations: up to 8 guests with 5 crew, or up to 9 guests with 6 crew, with the larger party bringing an extra crew member aboard rather than simply adding a berth.
Onboard Amenities
Starlink WiFi keeps guests connected even in the remote inlets she typically cruises, and a dedicated chef provides full gourmet catering throughout the charter. Her amenities lean modest and classic rather than superyacht-spec, in keeping with a historic vessel refitted for comfort rather than built as a new-generation megayacht.

Cruising Performance
Pacific Yellowfin retains her original wood hull and wood superstructure, giving her a full-displacement profile that trades outright speed for stability at anchor and generous onboard space. She cruises comfortably at around 10 knots. She operates two distinct seasonal programs in British Columbia: Desolation Sound through the summer months, and the Great Bear Rainforest each autumn, where guests can join specialist First Nations-guided excursions to spot the region’s rare Spirit Bears.
Toys & Water Equipment
Water toys and equipment are included as part of Pacific Yellowfin’s all-inclusive charter rate, in keeping with her cold-water BC cruising program rather than the itemised Mediterranean-style toy lists found on warmer-water charter yachts. Guests should confirm the current season’s specific equipment list directly with the yacht at the time of booking.
