About Pink Shadow

Pink Shadow is a 58.3-meter (191-foot) expedition yacht built by Damen Yachting and delivered in 2023 as the first SeaXplorer 58 model, with naval architecture by Damen and exterior design by Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture. Twelve guests sleep across six main-deck cabins, looked after by a crew of 17. Among expedition yachts built for genuine long-range travel, she stands out for her ice-class capability and a full-displacement steel hull designed to operate comfortably from the tropics to the polar regions.

Her interior, designed by London-based Design Unlimited, departs from the usual explorer-yacht palette. The scheme takes its cue from the 1982 film Fitzcarraldo, with rich greens, custom artwork and jungle-inspired textiles carried through the saloon and guest cabins. On the main deck, the Tahiti Plage beach club opens outward on both sides to widen the usable space, linking indoor and outdoor areas for guests who want onboard comfort without losing the explorer character.

Guest Accommodation

Pink Shadow sleeps up to 12 guests in six main-deck cabins: a full-beam principal suite, three doubles and two cabins that convert to twins. The principal suite is arranged with its own adjoining rest area, a private sitting space, and twin washbasins plus a steam shower in the en-suite.

Each of the five guest cabins carries a different wallpaper and furnishing treatment rather than a repeated layout, so the Amazon-themed design runs into the sleeping quarters as well. The double and convertible cabin mix gives groups some flexibility in how guests pair up, which suits families or couples traveling together.

Onboard Amenities

The Tahiti Plage beach club is Pink Shadow’s signature amenity: a bar, a jacuzzi pool and sunpads rigged above the water by the tender cranes, with bulwarks that lower on each side to widen the space at anchor. Above it, the Amazonas sun deck carries a second jacuzzi, a dining table and a fully stocked bar. Forward of the sun deck sits a certified helideck, an unusual feature on a charter yacht this size.

Inside, guests have access to a cigar room with a dedicated humidor, air conditioning throughout and Wi-Fi connectivity. At-anchor stabilizers keep deck spaces steady even when the yacht isn’t underway.

Cruising Performance

Pink Shadow’s hull combines welded steel below the waterline with an aluminium superstructure above it, keeping weight down topside while the full-displacement form holds her steady at anchor. Her twin MTU diesels drive a cruising speed near 13 knots and a top speed just over 14 knots, with roughly 5,000 nautical miles of range at a reduced 11-knot pace and close to 30 days of autonomy at sea.

That combination of range, ice-class construction and full-displacement stability makes Pink Shadow genuinely suited to longer, remote itineraries rather than the shorter island-hopping routes a planing motor yacht favors. Her Caribbean and Mediterranean deployments both fall within the typical charter season windows for those regions, and the ice-class hull adds options for guests interested in higher-latitude cruising where the central agent confirms it.
