About
Few charter yachts announce themselves as directly as Rox Star. Her hull and sails are finished entirely in black, a signature that makes her easy to pick out at anchor and one of the more distinctive sailing yachts cruising the Eastern Mediterranean. Built in 2015 by Bodrum Oguz Marin in Turkey, this 131 ft (39.9 m) ketch-rigged sailing yacht carries up to 10 guests in 5 cabins with a crew of 7.
Rox Star has a steel hull built to RINA class, a construction choice that favors structural solidity and long-range seaworthiness over the lighter composite builds common on charter yachts her size. She has been recently refitted, keeping her systems and finishes current for charter guests.
Design and Performance
Twin MAN D2876 LE401 diesel engines, rated at 560hp each, give Rox Star a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum of 14 knots under power. At around 220 GT, she has the volume for genuinely spacious guest and crew areas without losing the handling of a true sailing yacht.
Her ketch rig is built for real sailing, not just appearance, and charter guests who want to actually sail rather than motor between stops will notice the difference once her sails are set. Stabilizers fitted for use underway help smooth out the ride on longer passages between anchorages.
Guest Accommodation
Rox Star sleeps 10 guests overnight across 5 cabins, with an additional pullman berth available for day use that can bring capacity to 11 for daytime gatherings. A crew of 7 runs the yacht, a ratio that supports attentive service across both guest cabins and the extensive deck and water-toy program described below.
Onboard Amenities
The master cabin includes a steam shower, a detail not often found on a sailing yacht of this size, and a hydraulic swim platform at the stern makes launching water toys and boarding from the water straightforward. Charter guests looking for an active week on the water have plenty to choose from.
The water toy inventory includes two Seabobs, kayaks, paddleboards, waterskis and a wakeboard, and snorkeling and diving gear. Between the black-hulled silhouette and the toy count, Rox Star suits charter guests who want a yacht that looks distinctive at anchor and stays busy once the sails come down.
