About Seabiscuit
Seabiscuit is a 41.83-meter (137-foot) aluminum-hulled schooner delivered by Dutch builder Holland Jachtbouw in 2005, with naval architecture and interior styling by Hoek Design. Launched under the names This Is Us and Skylge before taking her current name, she has since collected a string of classic-regatta results, including a St. Barths Bucket class win in 2012 and a class victory at the inaugural Cyclades Cup in 2024.
Six guests travel across three cabins with a crew of six aboard. Her underwater profile sets her apart from a typical classic schooner: Hoek Design gave her a tall, narrow lifting keel and a spade rudder, shapes worked out in a wind tunnel and checked against sailing-performance software rather than copied from an older hull form, and the approach picked up a ShowBoats International award for technical performance along the way.
She charters mainly around Greece, within the wider Eastern Mediterranean cruising grounds.
Guest Accommodation
Seabiscuit’s three cabins sleep six guests between a master suite, a double and a twin, with a pullman berth that can take a seventh. The twin cabin works well for children or a pair of friends traveling together, making the yacht a reasonable option for family groups weighing a sailing yacht charter against a motor yacht of similar size.
A technical and cosmetic refit in 2013 brought new wall panelling, seating and galley worktops along with updated audiovisual equipment below decks, and the joinery has been kept close to Hoek Design’s original scheme rather than converted to a fully modern interior.
Onboard Amenities
Wi-Fi and air conditioning run throughout the interior, which matters during the warmer stretches of her Mediterranean season. Much of the saloon and dining area still carries its original 2005 joinery, so the interior reads warmer and more traditional than many newer performance-oriented sailing yachts.

Cruising Performance
What makes Seabiscuit quick is below the waterline rather than in her rigging alone. Her lifting keel and spade rudder were drawn after wind-tunnel sessions and velocity-prediction modelling, an unusually engineered approach for a classic-style schooner, and it has translated into regatta results including the St. Barths Bucket.
A 2020 refit at Pendennis in the UK replaced her original Lugger diesel with a single SCANIA DI09 072M rated at 294kW/400hp, paired with two new Northern Lights 33kW generators. Current charter sources put her cruising speed at 10 knots with a top speed around 11 knots under the new engine, giving an estimated range near 2,900 nautical miles at cruising speed on her 10,000-liter fuel capacity.
Toys & Water Equipment
For life on the water, guests have access to a pair of Seabob F5S electric scooters, both added in 2024, plus two Laser dinghies for anyone who wants to sail independently of the main yacht.
Shore transfers run through a single 4.2-meter tender, a Bombard Explorer T420 fitted with a Yamaha F60 outboard, which covers both quick harbor hops and longer excursions from her Greek cruising grounds.
