About Wild Dawn
The 98 ft (29.9 m) motor yacht Wild Dawn was built by Poole Boat Company and refitted through 2012, sleeping up to 10 guests in 4 cabins. Her unusually wide 25 ft (7.6 m) beam gives her the interior volume of a much larger yacht.
Wild Dawn is purpose-built for exploring Alaska’s Inside Passage, where remote islands, coves, and bays reward a stable, comfortable platform over outright speed. She suits guests drawn to wildlife-watching, fishing, and flexible, unscripted itineraries.
Guest Accommodation
Wild Dawn sleeps up to 10 guests across 4 cabins, each with a private en-suite bathroom. The master stateroom has a king bed with a bathtub and marble shower, two staterooms offer queen beds, and a fourth combines a queen bed with upper and lower bunks, well suited to families.
A crew of 4, including a chef, stewardess, and mate/engineer, supports the group throughout. The full-width covered aft deck and large salon give guests generous common space alongside their private cabins.
Onboard Amenities
Onboard amenities on Wild Dawn include Starlink internet for fast, reliable connectivity even in Alaska’s remote waters. A hot tub has been added to the top deck, giving guests a warm spot to relax after a day on the water.
The large dining table on the aft deck makes outdoor meals a highlight, especially with the scenery Southeast Alaska offers. Automatic fire suppression in the engine room and handheld extinguishers throughout reflect her build to commercial vessel standards.

Cruising Performance
Wild Dawn’s welded aluminum hull and new Caterpillar C18 engines (installed during her 2008-2012 refit) give her a quiet, fuel-efficient cruise at around 9 knots. Her commercial-grade construction, originally developed for long-range Southern California tuna boats, suits sustained operation in demanding conditions.
This steady pace matches an Alaska itinerary built around wildlife spotting and glacier viewing rather than covering ground quickly between stops.
Toys & Water Equipment
Wild Dawn’s toy selection is built around exploration rather than high-speed watersports, led by an 18 ft Novurania tender with a 115 hp Yamaha outboard for shore runs and closer looks at wildlife.
Four two-person kayaks and paddleboards round out the equipment, giving guests a quiet way to explore coves and shorelines that the main yacht can’t reach.
Wild Dawn Charter Locations
Wild Dawn charters throughout Alaska’s Inside Passage, part of the North America cruising region, typically running between Juneau, Sitka, and Petersburg, with itinerary options including the fjords and tidewater glaciers of Tracy Arm or Endicott Arm. There are no fixed ports of call, which allows the crew to build each day around current wildlife activity and guest preferences.
Activities can range from kayaking and hiking to halibut fishing, crabbing, and shrimping, depending on how active guests want the trip to be. This flexible, expedition-style approach makes Wild Dawn a strong fit for guests who want Alaska’s wilderness experienced up close.
